90's Flashback

The latest drop to the web shop is The Grunge Edit. I have such a fondness for this era, as a 90's Art Student, I spent weekends in incense filled hippy shops perusing the tiedye, Indian embroidery and grungey florals, saving up for silver earrings and making friendship bracelets or necklaces from found objects. (I'm the one in plaits in the image below wearing a necklace I made from a bit of metal I found on the street).

Inspired by our favourite bands, we'd pull our looks together from our parents 70's stash of flares, waistcoats, leather jackets and squeeze into kids tees with graphic prints. We found floral frocks from the jumble sale or charity shop added layered, holed and ripped tights and add our well worn in Dr Martens boots or trashed Converse. Armed with a hip flask secured in secret places, we'd find an Indie night and dance the night away.

In the 90's there were no camera phones and photos taken on 35mm were blurred -  many images from that era that look a bit like this...
